Our First Blog!

Welcome to our first official blog from "The Lesson Center". We hope to use this space to keep in touch with our enrolled students and parents, as well as to inform the general public about some of the happenings here at TLC.

Right now, though it may not even be October yet, it's beginning to sound a lot like Christmas. That's because our Winter recitals are scheduled for December 5 and 13 at Bethlehem's Christkindlmarkt. Both our adult and child students who are ready to perform solo or in group will be presenting at the event.

We've been adding to our staff here as well - with the additions of Ryan Buechle (guitar) and Sam Swanson (drums). In addition, the very talented Brian Bortz (bass) is conducting weekly master class lessons for bass players ready to "Raise Their Game".

We'll also be having several guests artists joining us this fall and winter for speciality weekend master classes. Brooks Williams, one of the world's premier acoustic guitarists, will be presenting a workshop entitled "Beyond the First Four Frets" on October 24, 2009. For those accomplished acoustic players who are looking to take their playing to a new level - this is for you.

While The Lesson Center is no longer a full service instrument and accessory merchant, we do still carry necessities (like textbooks, strings, tuners, picks, etc.) for our students everyday needs AND thanks to a new relationship with Hal Leonards Digital Retailer program, we can offer immediate digital downloads of speciality sheet music from a database of thousands of options.

Want to work on a new song with your teacher? We can download the charts here and begin working on it immediately. Remember, we also have mp3 capability in each room, so bring along your ipod or player of choice to your lesson. And you can check email, surf the net, look for songs or do your homework at our parent/student resource center while you wait for your lesson to begin!

Looking forward to a GREAT autumn.
